Ingredients:

  • 200g of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 50ml of water
  • 150g of mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, and potatoes)
  • 1 tsp of cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp of coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp of garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp of lemon juice
  • Oil for frying

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • frying pan
  • mixing bowl
  • rolling pin
  • cutting board

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and vegetable oil. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  • In another pan, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds, allowing them to splutter.
  • Add mixed vegetables and sauté for about 5 minutes until tender. Stir in coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric, and lemon juice. Cook for another 2 minutes and let it cool.
  • Divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into a thin circle. Cut the circle in half to create two semi-circles.
  • Take one semi-circle, form a cone by folding it and sealing the edge with a little water. Fill the cone with the vegetable mixture and seal the open edge firmly.
  • Repeat the process for the remaining dough and filling.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the samosas until they turn golden brown and crispy on all sides. Drain on paper towels before serving.
