Crispy Battered French Fries

Ingredients:


  • 2 large potatoes
  • 100g of all-purpose flour
  • 50g of cornstarch
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 200ml of cold water
  • Oil for frying

  • Potato peeler

  • Paper towel

Instructions:


  • Peel the potatoes and cut them into even-sized sticks.
  • Soak the potato sticks in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  • In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add cold water to the dry ingredients, whisking until you have a smooth batter.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until hot.
  • Dip the soaked potato sticks into the batter, allowing the excess to drip off.
  • Carefully place the battered potatoes into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove the cooked fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  • Serve hot and enjoy crispy battered French fries!
