Classic Homemade Bread

Ingredients:


  • 500g of all-purpose flour
  • 10g of salt
  • 7g of instant yeast
  • 300ml of warm water
  • 30ml of olive oil
  • 10g of sugar

Instructions:


  • In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour and salt together.
  • Once the yeast mixture is ready, pour it into the flour mixture along with the olive oil.
  • Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  • After rising, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  • Place the shaped dough into a greased loaf pan. Cover and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  • Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until it sounds hollow when tapped.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
